« on: February 08, 2012, 07:39:46 AM »
**Give example of High Severity & Low Priority on Google page

Please let me know what would be the Severity for the below mentioned bugs & why justify it (Critical, Major & Non-Critical )

1.If a search is given for Cipro 500MG the record displays Cipro 200MG,Cipro is a strong antibiotic

2.If a patient search is given in a database, it gives result after 2 minutes

3.The application forces to enter the gender in the form even if it is not mandatory

Please send your replies on mchaware@gmail.com

Hi Megha

1. If you search for Cipro 500MG the record display Cipro200MG. Here the severity depends on whether Cipro 500MG is there in any server, database or not.
If Cipro 500MG is not there, then I don't think it is a bug, its severity will be low(Non-Critical). This is because Google uses something like varity collection (Search Collection) to crawl across the server find all the related stuff and display the most appropriate  one first.
But if stuffs are there regarding Cipro500MG and still it is displaying Cipro200MG. Then its severity will be Critical.

2.If a patient search is given in a database, it gives result after 2 minutes.
This is regarding performance testing. I don't think in today's busy life anyone want to wait for 2 min to retrieve some information from database. Here even if it takes 2 min and if it display correct information then it has low severity and high priority
Again if database contain lots of information in it and it is supposed to take 2 min to respond then it is fine, priority will be low severity will also be low.

3.The application forces to enter the gender in the form even if it is not mandatory
This is obivious bug, its severity as well as Priority should be major.
