Database Testing ? can we bring a discussion about Database Testing?

this topic is really helpful for all the guys who are looking for a job change . in every interview people are very frequently asking the question ..do you know database testing ??  if you say know....the interviewer face turns red ..as if we are going to kill himmm.... leave all this and ...one final request please share your experiences... if any body who are working as database tester please give the details what a fresh tester who wants to jump into database testing need to learn must ........please describe...1) what are the pre requisites of DB tester  2) waht are all the things he should concentrate from SQL/PLSQL part   3) waht else he need to learn .............please advice.....................Thanks for your time in advance...

Hi all,


For db testers, he/she shud have basic knowledge on Sql/Pl sql/oracle. Tester shud have basic knowledge of all queries. in small copmpanies there wont have dba guys. so testers have to do db work.. so he have to knw basics of db.

I want to start my career as backend tester. I have very good knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL as i have done OCP.

can anyone tell me what i should learn to become backend tester specific to oracle?
Which automated tools are used in backend testing?
can i start my career as manual backend tester?
